Why the Chisholm Tax Clinic?
The National Tax Clinic program is a government-funded initiative to help people who may not be able to afford professional advice and representation with their tax affairs. The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) support this initiative, but the tax clinics operate independently from the ATO and is designed to:
- provide information and support for unrepresented or in-need taxpayers
- assist in developing practical experiences for students who could be future tax professionals
- raise awareness and understanding of issues in the current tax system
- help people in our community who are most in need of the service.
